Ten Three-Year-Old Fillies Set to Clash in $500,000 Test Stakes
Cavorting headlines the competitive field as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. Purchased for $360,000 by Stonestreet Stables, the bay daughter of Bernardini has won three of her five starts and was a graded stakes winner at Saratoga as a juvenile. After a ninth-place finish in her sophomore debut in the Davona Dale (G2) at Gulfstream in February, she came back to win the Jersey Girl Stakes last time out. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard from post position two.
Breeders' Cup winner Take Charge Brandi back in action
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is juvenile filly champion Take Charge Brandi for trainer D. Wayne Lukas. A chestnut daughter of Giant’s Causeway, she has won her last four starts and has been on the shelf since winning the Martha Washington Stakes at Oaklawn Park. She has been training forwardly for her return to the races and will have Luis Saez in the irons from post position four.
Angela Renee trying to break out of sophomore slump
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Angela Renee for trainer Todd Pletcher. She has been on the board in six of her ten starts and was a Grade 1 winner as a juvenile. A bay daughter of Bernardini, she has not hit the board in her last two starts and will be trying to rebound and earn her first win of the year. Mike Smith will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position eight.
