Holiday stakes action at Belmont October 13 Columbus Day includes the $100,000 Punkin Pie Stakes for fillies three years old and up as a field of eight is schedule to compete on the main track.

Katie’s Garden is the 2/1 morning line favorite for trainer John Shirreffs with John Velazquez in the irons.  Katie’s Garden, a four year-old daughter of Elusive Quality, is three for six lifetime as she exits a second place finish in the Sky Beauty Stakes September 7 at Belmont.  Before that effort, she rolled through her conditions winning a maiden special weight race and two allowance races in a row. 

Unbound makes first start outside Japan

Second choice Unbound is 3/1 on the morning line for trainer Graham Motion.  Unbound will be making her first start in the United States after logging the first ten starts of her career in Japan.  Motion has excelled in his career with foreign imports and it will be interesting to see how Unbound acclimates herself to North American racing with jockey Joel Rosario up. 

Voodoo Tales finding her best stride  

Florida-bred, Voodoo Tales is 4/1 for Nicholas Esler with Javier Castellano up.  Voodoo Tales has captured five of fifteen career starts for earnings $188,889.  Voodoo Tales is coming off a pair of allowance victories at Belmont Park and has shown a liking for the local surface.  With four wins in her last seven tries, Voodoo Tales is in the best form of her career.
