Ribo Bobo Back In $110,000 Express at Gulfstream Park

Ribo Bobo Back In $110,000 Express at Gulfstream Park

Category : News - Fri 05/12/2014 - 17:31 EST

The $110,000 Express is the second of eight Claiming Crown races featured on the opening day card at Gulfstream Park Saturday, Dec 6 with a field of ten set to go six furlongs on the main track.

The race which is restricted to horses that have started for $7500 or less since January 2013 is led by multiple stakes winner Ribo Bobo, who will be making his return after a dismal seventh place finish in the Grade 1 Vosburgh in September.  The speedy son of Louis Quatorze has shown an affinity for the Gulfstream Park strip winning 7 of 18 career races on the main track.  Ribo Bobo has won 13 of his last 18 starts for trainer Jason Sevis and has banked over $800,000 in his career.

Frontier Warrior first off the claim

9/2 shot Frontier Warrior enters on a five race win streak and will be making his first start for trainer Peter Walder after being claimed November 20 at Laurel Park for $20,000.  Frontier Warrior brings sharp gate speed to a race already loaded with front-runners, but has shown the ability to rate in some of his past wins.  Walder hits at a 26% clip with runners making their first start off the claim.

Blings Express should be coming late

Blings Express is an interesting possibility from off-the-pace at 6/1.  The Marcus Vitali trainee has not raced above the $12,000 level in any of his starts, but has shown the ability to sit behind a fast pace and pass horses in winning three of his last five starts.
