Compact But Quality Field of Five Set for $100,000 Saginaw Stakes

Saratoga Snacks has been installed as the morning line favorite in the compact field at odds of 7-5 for trainer Gary Sciacca. A six-year-old son of Tale of the Cat, he has been on the board in sixteen of his twenty starts and is an eight-time winner. He was third last time out in the Commentator Stakes and won an allowance race early in the year. John Velazquez will be in the irons and they will break from post position three.

Empire Dreams going for second straight win

Second choice at 8-5 on the morning line is Empire Dreams for trainer Tom Albertrani. A four-year-old son of Patriot Act owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, he has won four of his thirteen starts and is a three-time stakes winner against state-bred competition. Last time out, he won the Commentator Stakes in a mild upset performance from off the pace. Javier Castellano will be aboard from post position four.

Notacatbutallama trying to return to form

Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is Notacatbutallama for trainer Todd Pletcher. Owned by Repole Stable, the five-year-old gelded son of Harlan’s Holiday is a seven-time winner and has been successful against both restricted and open stakes competition. He was third last time out in an allowance race in his second start of the year and will break from the outside post under jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr.
